This book made me laugh, cry, pray and ponder about my life and all life in the universe. It is the most special gift I have ever received. The authors of Small Miracles have published their second book, appropriately enough named Small Miracles II: Heartwarming Gifts of Extraordinary Coincidences. Halberstam and Leventhal believe that what we call coincidences are "mysterious, magical, and awe-inspiring testimonials to God's presence in our ordinary, everyday lives." They have named these events "small miracles." Their book is a collection of small miracles--story after story of gifts and blessings seemingly received by coincidence. All are positive and reflect the essential goodness of humankind. Most only take a page or two, so they can be easily read during a break from daily chores. The authors say that becoming aware of the role of coincidences allows us to open our own hearts to the small miracles occurring regularly in our lives. Finally I went to buy Small Miracles II and haven't been able to hang onto a copy of it also. Everyone needs this book to renew there faith in the Universe as our Mother who cares for us and watches out for us. You begin to see all the overlooked small miracles in yourown life. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful Most Thorough Guide Out There, September 21, 2009 By  Cecile (USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Technical Sourcebook for Designers (Paperback) With 20 years industry experience and 10 years of teaching technical design and patternmaking, I think this is the most thorough reference I've seen. I have already recommended it to two small companies for whom I do freelance work and I used it myself as a reference when I was working on a product category that is new to me. I think this book will be good for students, for small companies who don't have a lot of technical knowledge and also as a reference book in the library of larger companies who do have technical expertise on staff but need all that knowledge colated in one place. Since it is a dense book, my recommendation would be to spend an hour skimming through all the chapters to familiarize yourself with the content. And then when you have a question, you'll be able to read that section thoroughly. There is an incredible amount of useful information is this book. I have been a professional in the apparel industry for 10 years and reading this reminded me of things I had learned and sort of forgotten about because of the area of apparel design my career has focused on. Reading it made me realize that I once I got into the industry I sort of forgot about some of the things I learned in school because under the pressure of deadlines, I overlooked some of the great creative details I would have addressed if I had time. This is a great textbook because it addresses all areas of techinical design not just some. I would have loved it as a student because one book could have been used for many subject instead of buying one for each (with a bunch of useless information in each I did not need.) Again, this is a pleasure to read and valuable resource. It reminds me of how much I know, how much I love this industry and that I can always learn more.
